Continuity Centers Launches MobileVault Cloud Backup Services Powered By Asigra Cloud Backup v10 Posted: 08 Sep 2010 03:39 AM PDT Continuity Centers, a provider of flexible disaster recovery solutions, and Managed Service Provider of SecureVault, Powered by Asigra, recently announced the addition of MobileVault data protection services to its Secure Private Cloud Backup offerings. Based on DS-Mobile, an advanced feature in the Asigra Cloud Backup software platform, the new service extends efficient, cost-effective and transformational cloud backup and recovery solutions beyond business walls to mobile computing devices outside the corporate LAN. The solution provides supreme data backup and recovery to Continuity's customer base, augmenting the company's SecureVault service offering for servers and data centers. Continuity Centers brands this new service as MobileVault. MobileVault is specifically built for laptops and desktops, enabling quick file based backup and recovery through an intelligent and easy to use user interface. The addition of MobileVault by Continuity Centers, Powered by Asigra, will compete against low-cost, thin SLA offerings presently existing in the market. New data on the laptop is automatically protected by being sent to the MobileVault whenever the user is connected to the Internet. Versions of the file can be restored quickly from the MobileVault through the intuitive user interface on the laptop. The agentless technology within MobileVault also eliminates the need to install software on every machine in need of protecting. Asigra's block-level delta backup and deduplication makes backup and restore times the fastest on the market, regardless of the connection speed. In most organizations, data from mobile users does not reside in the company's central data center and may go weeks without syncing new data to the network, which can make it difficult for IT departments to properly safeguard the data in the instance of a disaster. MobileVault handles this with ease, making the IT administrator's life easier, completely automating this time consuming routine task. Gregory R. Tellone, COO of Continuity Centers, explains why Continuity Centers wanted a mobile based data protection solution available to them. "Although many companies have a policy to not save data locally on laptops or to sync data from laptops to the network, they all agree that these are difficult policies to enforce and often leaves their employees frustrated and data unprotected. The small to mid-sized enterprise cannot rely on the same SOHO grade backup services that the home user and two person office use. Our members have been asking us for a reliable, cost effective disaster recovery solution for their laptops, with SOHO backup prices, for these exact reasons. Adding MobileVault to our portfolio was the logical next step to grow and strengthen our mobile protection offering. MobileVault protection for data residing on laptops and desktops is a perfect complement to our SecureVault recovery solution for servers, databases and data centers. This will enable our members to protect their mobile workforce's data and easily recover any data that is lost due to hard drive corruption, user error or loss or theft of laptops. Our relationship with Asigra has grown significantly over the years and we are very excited to offer this new service to the business, government and educational communities. Asigra's reputation for security, quality and reliability has been a perfect match to Continuity Centers' culture." "As an Asigra-Powered Cloud Backup service provider, Continuity Centers provides core-to-edge data recovery services to ensure operations in the event data loss occurs," said Amrita Chandra, Senior Director of Corporate Marketing for Asigra. "Organizations ranging from SMBs to large enterprises will find clear-cut advantages in the functionality, usability and pricing that Continuity Centers provides to reduce the risk, complexity and cost that is so common with traditional backup solutions."
